Exclusions

Unfortunately we have to plan for a minority of hirers, that have acted irresponsibly in the past.

It is for this reason that the committee, with regret, are obliged to impose some restrictions on parties.

The committee reserves the right, in any circumstance it sees fit:

  • to ask potential hirers for references from one or more known responsible villagers/other village hall committees

  • to ask to see evidence of DBS check and safeguarding training where appropriate

  • to ask for a bond of up to £500, as guarantee of good behaviour

  • ultimately, to refuse to hire the hall if they are not satisfied as to the suitability of the proposed event and/or the likely good behaviour of the aspirant hirer(s)

If you are a responsible hirer, you will not be affected by this: our terms and conditions are unchanged, and our rates remain. Please, though, be patient with us as we try to protect the investment that the village has in the Hall.

Terms and Conditions and Information for Hirers.

The T&Cs of hire are located on the back of the Hiring Agreement but can also be viewed in PDF format by clicking on the icon below.
We have a further document full of important information for hirers. This includes some do’s and don’ts but also has information of a more practical nature such as how to operate the heating and where we keep the mop!

By proceeding with the hire of the hall you agree to comply with our Safeguarding Policy to keep the hall a safe place for all users.
